What are Delrin flat washers?
Delrin flat washers are manufactured from acetal homopolymer (POM-H), an engineering plastic produced by DuPont under the Delrin brand name. Delrin offers high stiffness, low friction, excellent fatigue resistance, and good dimensional stability, making it a versatile choice for mechanical assemblies in automotive, consumer products, electronics, and industrial equipment.

What makes Delrin a good washer material?
Delrin is self-lubricating, which reduces friction and wear in moving assemblies. It has a low coefficient of friction, resists creep under sustained loads, and maintains its dimensions across a wide temperature range. It is also non-conductive and non-magnetic, making it suitable for electrical isolation applications.

How does Delrin compare to nylon as a washer material?
Delrin has lower moisture absorption than nylon, which means its dimensions are more stable in humid or wet environments. It is also stiffer and has better creep resistance. Nylon has slightly better impact resistance and is generally more chemical resistant to bases and alcohols. For precision mechanical applications, Delrin is typically the preferred choice.
